I had originally done my own video but have had problems while exporting it. I found that during this process it is rather easy to do your own video if you line up all the videos so that they are on the same part of the song, this makes it easier for cutting them down and putting them together. The only thing I found difficult was cutting down the long instrumental at the beginning of the song so that it was no longer too long. This was good practice for our videos that we will be doing.

Favourite Music Video's
In this post I shall be looking at and analysing five different music video's of my choice. These videos are the music videos of songs that I most enjoy within the industry.
Beautiful Mess by Kristian Kostov
This song and music video is one of my most favourites. I really enjoy the concept of this video. The video strongly speaks of the lyrics within the song itself as the actions convey the feelings of the words. An example of this is the lyrics "Even up against the wall, Our love is untouchable", throughout the whole video there are frames that represent strength. Such as a large black horse, people collectively pulling a boat on the ground, a crow, fire, wind etc.
Don't Wanna Cry by Seventeen
Another video I really enjoy is "울고싶지않아" or "Don't Wanna Cry" by Seventeen. As you can probably tell already this is a kpop music video. This video is a mix between performance and narrative. Though most kpop videos tend to focus on performance through dance and singing, an obvious message is portrayed through the video which is the message that is within the song it's self.
Something I really enjoy from Seventeen is that they always try to make their dances convey exactly what they want them to in relation to their songs. This can be seen through various videos such as "VERY NICE"(아주 NICE), "MANSE" (만세) and "Adore U" (아낀다). The movements strongly show how tortured they feel about the girl they love within this video. Not only does the video focus on the lyrics being sang by its performers, it also focuses on the performance value with dancing, and has some short shots in a narrative form to accompany along with the story of the lyrics.
BTS (방탄소년단) LOVE YOURSELF 承 Her 'Serendipity' Comeback Trailer:
A new video that I really love is BTS's Jimin's song "Love yourself". I enjoy the aesthetic feel to the video, the different angles, the prop use, the background editing, all of the video. The whole video really accentuates Jimin's personality and looks, clearly showing how it suits him. The video goes for a more personal feel instead of focusing on performance with dancing, allowing the song to feel more personal but also making it visible that not all Asian pop videos are focused on performance.
EXO's music video for "Power" is another new video that I really enjoy, not only does it show each individual members personality, it also follows a pervious story line that EXO had created. If you was to speak to any EXO fan they would tell you about the powers that each member had gained at some point and that this video is a sequel to show how each member got their powers! Not only this but the video shows the strong bond that they have with the EXO-L's as the cat in the video is named "L" and Baekhyun picks up the cat as if to say that we have done a good job supporting them and that is what gave him his power.
I really enjoy the fact that the video connects to their past and tells a story but also represents the relationship that fans have with them.
As always debut songs like Energetic tend to get a lot of attention and this was no exception. The video introduces each of the members of the group as well as showing off their personalities and the feeling that wants to be portrayed of the song within the video which makes it feel light as well as fun. I always appreciate seeing these as you get to know the artists for the first time and what kind of artists they are.
I feel as though this video is fun and I like how it shows that girls can be cute, fun and yet powerful at the same time. They also have talent and tell their own story with their songs and tell it through expression, props, background and dance instead of creating a narrative or using the opposite gender to portray what the song is about.
