First Advert Edit

This is my starting point for my advert. I'm not particularly sure on which direction it is going to head into as I don't know what type of background I want. So I'm going to play around until I figure it out. The reason I am using the artist backwards is because I believe that it will be more interesting to the viewer. I feel it is more interesting because it makes you want to know what is behind, what the artist looks like. I find it more interesting, as well as asking some people I know, they also think that this approach is refreshing.

This is the main photo of my artist that I am planning to use for my artist advert as I think it shows how diverse my artist is as well as leaves the audience wondering who they are.

I felt like this would be a good photo to use as it is very glamours, However it is slightly out of focus so I am unsure.

It's all about a journey so why not have part of the journey in the background:

Alternatively I could use an adventure like background such as a forest which I feel will go well with my aesthetic.




I can't seem to find one that I love just yet so I am going to keep looking.

Photoshop practice

Beautiful.

I did not have a fun time with Photoshop. It wasn't doing what we expected, and i couldn't scale or move anything and now i really don't like it. I now need to find a way around my advert.

Functions and Conventions Magazine Ads

Functions of magazine adverts:

• to promote the artist

• to promote the latest releases of an artist to the target audience

• to increase the awareness of the artist and sell their material. 

Conventions of magazine adverts:

• includes album/single title

• often has a picture of the artist. if not a picture than the band's logo

• release date of material

• album artwork for both singles and album promotions

• record label

• other well known songs from the same artist

• genre of artist shown through images, colours and clothing

• artist website and label website
