Audience Reaction to Advert and Website

Evaluation:

On the poster below the quotes adding sources from the different music labels or other artists may improve the quality and selling point of the album.
I like the minimalist design style that doesn't take away from the information that is being used.
With the links at the bottom it is good you included all major sources for social media.
The website consists of various source information showing the journey from music fan to artist taking the reader on a journey.
One problem is the missing social media link of Snapchat that was used on the poster.
The use of direct address draws in the reader and entices to keep reading on.

How I Designed My Website and Why.

This is the outline of my artists website. The reason I laid my website out this way was because I wanted it to be dead simple to navigate around, and have a light colour pallet so that it goes well with my artists aesthetic, and her personality. I wanted to be able to show my connections to other people (which is why I have a picture from a BIGBANG concert to show my connection to the company and the artists)
My artist is well put together and likes everything to look nice together which is why I liked to think that arranging my website this way was the best thing to do. I liked looking for pictures that are relevant to my style. When choosing what photo's I wanted, I looked online for things that I felt went well with my personality, so coffee, and being with people, as well as flowers and plants, that sort of thing is what I enjoy. I love nature, coffee and people, put them together that is basically who I am which is why I included them in my website as I am the artist.

Photo's I used in my website and why

Considering my artist is part of YG Entertainment, I decided to rep BIGBANG and
Kwon Ji-yong (GDRAGON)

I liked this photo because it comes across as a metaphor for life for me, it seems to speak to me that even though we look at things though a different lens or light, doesn't mean the world has changed.

I used this photo because it looks very typical of indie genre. Not only this but it is rather pleasing to look at, which make the soul feel cleaner. I also feel as though this is the type of room my artist would like, and I want the website as personal as possible.

I used this photo because my artist enjoys spending time with the people she loves and cares about, always looking to go on new adventures together. I feel this picture is representative of this.

I wanted a rough outfit style for the type of style the artist is. As I am the artist I went with what I would wear, I always wear my glasses and cardigans, drink coffee and doodle, and listen to music so I felt it was appropriate to me as a artist.

I often sit writing while drinking coffee, so this photo represents me as a person well, so its perfect for my artist website.

Again, I love coffee! So what better picture for asking people questions, it also goes well with my aesthetic.

I wanted to use a photo that captured the love that can be felt in a crowd at a concert.
I used this as the fan meeting picture because I would like them to be relaxed and not so stressed out, and I couldn't find anything that represented that better.

Album Advert

I decided that using the one of me facing away was the best option to use as the flag shows the diversity of my artist and what type of person she is. I also added the social media she can be found on as well as the companies she is under so that people know who she works for.

Album Advert draft

This is the magazine advert I plan on using for my artists new album. Of course this is only one of the edits. I think I like the simplicity of the advert and it makes it easier on the viewer. Consumers (majority of them) don't like to have an endless stream of information when finding out about stuff. They like to know the basics and have information given to them in the simplest format possible. I think as far as adding things in all I need to do is add in the company logos as well as the release date.
I finally found a forest background that I wanted to use for my advert.

Research For Website

Personally I don't enjoy masses of information so when creating a website i decided it was a good idea to have only a small amount of information on it. Small facts are a lot better than boring long ones. People like to not to have to read masses of writing all the time. So when creating ,my website I hope it shall be more effective to be using past facts about the artist, video links and small amounts of information.

When analysing another artists website (Ed Sheeran's) I realised that I am not the only one who realises that large amounts of information can be boring and time consuming. The basis of a website is to let people know when the tour dates are, new videos and slight news along with merchandise.

I like the fact that the first thing you see is the newest work that he has created, that's more likely to grab people's attention.

I like the fact that the website doesn't change the dates even after they have passed by, that way people can know exactly when it was coming out, even in five or ten years time.

The tour dates section interests me because it's nicely structured and straight to the point.

And again, the simplicity of being able to listen to the artists most popular songs right then and there and have the option to listen to the whole song or not is rather promoting.

I feel as thought the simple format is the most compelling for consumers and I shall defiantly use it for my website like I had planned to.

Second Advert Edit

When searching for 'indie images' on google I found this beautiful background. For some reason it didn't seem that it wanted to load the photo properly so I wasn't sure if it looked right and decided in the end I wasn't going to use this background. I was going to try and find out how to fade out the legs into the flowers so that it looked like i was walking through them. But then I felt like it was too colourful as well as thinking it wasn't loading properly when adjusting the size. So a darker background seemed appropriate. So I decided that so my artist didn't look so blended and more out of place among the darkness, that I should use a forest as that is a very indie background.

Research for Advert

I've been looking at what seems to be popular within adverts in magazines for new artists and or popular artists new albums. To me it really seems to depend on the type of music that, that artist creates.

It seems like new artist albums focus more on what the artist looks like and the key information about the new album. In short they leave the adverts as short and simple as possible with a view of the artist to make consumers more interested in what the album has to offer. If you don't see much of what is available the more likely you are to look into the information that you want, making you more interested in the artist.

I feel as though this is a reasonable approach and that I should use it to my advantage for my own artists advert as it seem the most effective to have a small amount of information. I'm not sure I want to conform the the convention of having the artists face on the advert though. I feel as though it's more interesting to try and find out what they look like and in order to do that they have to watch the music video and listen to the song. Which would give the artist more recognition.
