Different Types of Audience Groups

Main-streamersTend to look for security. Typically in order to be domestic, conformist, conversational, sentimental - favour value for money, family brands. This is the largest group for audience.

Aspirers →  They seek status. Materialistic, acquisitive, orientated to image and appearance, persona and fashion. These are typically younger people.

Succeeders Often seek for control, have strong goals, a lot of confidence, work ethic and organisation skills. Typically they deal with higher management and are professionals.

Resigned → These people seek survival, They are rigid and like authoritarian values. These audiences are also interested in the past and tradition. This group is often older people.

Explorers → These audiences seek discovery. Full of energy, individuality, and experience. They value differences and adventure. These are usually the younger generation (students).

Strugglers → These audiences often seek escape. Are alienated and disorganised people. They have few resources beyond physical skills. They typically buy alcohol, junk food, lottery tickets and items they don't really need. Typically lower demographics.

Reformers  → This audience seeks enlightenment, freedom of restrictions and personal growth. They have social awareness and independent judgement. Anti-materialistic but aware of good taste.

the audience my artist will be targeting is aspirers and main-streamers. The reason behind this is because the artists music is rather relaxed and comfortable, which can be the most appealing to a wide audience, and these are the largest groups of people. Music tends to reach the younger generation better than it does older people, therefore making it obvious that aspirers should always be targeted. Not only this but indie is a style that everyone seems to be following lately, so aspirers will be interested in the artists fashion.
