When preparing for my music video I gained most of my research, planning and construction for my video within YouTube and Pinterest. This was a good way for me to collect data for the video and see a vision of what it was that I wanted for my video. When trying to think of the locations at which I would like to film at for my artists music video, I looked at different 'indie music videos' as well as Pinterest photos for inspiration. I wanted to be relativly similar to other indie videos. For insperation of the story line I looked at the original video by Gabrielle Aplin for 'Home'.
When looking for location ideas I looked at Pinterest for these ideas. Pinterest has a load of pictures of which other people post and add tags onto. I felt this was perfect for finding out what kind of things people class as indie, and the type of things a indie audience would like to see within a music video. For this I searched in the search bar at the top of the page 'indie aesthetic' ands began looking throught the different posts that people has shared and posted.
I managed to get some really good ideas about location for the music video as well from Pinterest. It made me think of all the places like fields and forests close by to my home town which wouldn't cause too much bother for me to get to, to be able to film in. Which then lead me to the ideas of locations I could use in my video. I found Pinterest was the most helpful in this aspect. Here are a few different items of which I found that I felt gave me a feel for the genre and what kind of artist it was that I was trying to create.

Something I really liked was that I got a lot of ideas from Pinterest about the sort of person my artist would be as she is an indie artist. It helped me create a sort of collage to show all these different things about their personality, the things they like, do, places they go, and I really liked the thought of that. So not only could it help me find locations, it made me build my artists character.
When looking at Pinterest, I found a lot of things that I liked through looking at images that were connected with one of them, for instance if I click on this photo, from the above:

I then see more photos that are similar:
When looking at YouTube, it was important to my research but I wouldn't say it helped the same amount as Pinterest did. However it did play a big part in enabling me to see what kind of style the other indie artist would carry in their own videos. Most videos and visually pleasing to look at, colour wise or otherwise. What I tended to find was a lot of the videos had a kind of relaxed feel to them which then follows a sequence of events that are more connected to emotions.
For the original video from Gabrielle I seemed to have found that the video was about a journey, so I wanted to stick to that because I felt the song was about a journey. It wouldn't make too much sense to me if the video was about anything else, I think the video needs to portray the feelings, to get the point of the song across.
I also used YouTube to keep a track of the videos progress. This was so that I could see just what changes I had made to my video and the different take I had on my video with each new idea. It shows me the transition for me, from going to all narrative based to having performance based in it.
During all the processes, These were the only technologies I used other than Photoshop, Wix and Premiere Pro for editing. I didn't need to use other social media to contact with other people in my group as I did not have a group. The only time I needed to use another technology to communicate with other people for my video was when talking to my friend about staying round her apartment while I was filming. So for this I just used Facebook messenger.
When using Photoshop, I used it to create a poster for my performer.
I started off with looking at different backgrounds that I could use for the advert. I wanted it to be as indie as possible so that it matched the theme of the video. For me it was obvious to use some sort of forest path. The song is a journey, so the album is a journey. I wanted my artist to walk up the path for this. I used photo shop for this because I could not exactly go to a forest of my liking to make my own background for this and have me standing there, looking as I would have in the video. So I took a photo from the recording process to use in a photo I found online. Then added in social media and the record companies I see my artist under.
Wix was a easy piece of technology for me to use, I went on there and selected a simple template and just worked from that. It was a lot easier to work with a simple template for me as I did not want it to confuse the audience and for it to be easy to navigate.
To edit my video I used Premier Pro. This had to be my most favourite part of the whole process. I cropped videos to make it seem like still frames of my singing did not seem so static and unmoving compared to the other videos. I also used a lightening effect on some of the darker shots towards the end of the video so that it was possible to see the shots a lot more clearer.
